Go beyond the headline.
Understand the trade.
A change in inflation can affect interest rates, currencies, equity valuations and commodity demand at the same time. ATG studies those connections, then asks which market offers the clearest way to express the view.
The goal is to make the reasoning visible: what changed, why it matters, what the market may be missing and what would make us change our mind. A strong economic story still needs an attractive entry price and a credible downside case.
ATG is for investors, market professionals and curious readers who want to follow an idea from evidence to decision—and see how that decision develops over time.
One macro view. Many possible expressions.
Coverage spans exchange-listed futures worldwide. Each edition concentrates on the most relevant themes and available evidence; this is not a live feed for every contract.

Understand the results.
The Macro Lab connects research with a simulated futures portfolio. It shows recorded paper positions, open and closed profit and loss, modeled costs and dated portfolio valuations.
Results reflect stated simulation assumptions and dated observations. The lab provides context for interpreting the performance record.
The $1M is fictional starting capital. The lab does not hold client money or place real orders. Research recommendations and simulated holdings are shown separately.
Sourabh is a finance professional with experience across Scotiabank, CIBC and RBC in structured products, derivatives and risk analytics. His work spans payoff analysis, valuation, market sensitivities and scenarios used in pricing and investment discussions.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Economics from the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management and is a CFA and CAIA charterholder.
Through ATG Alternative Investments, he develops cross-asset research and tools that connect macro views with trade construction and portfolio risk. ATG Global Markets Research brings that work into a public, AI-assisted platform built around detailed analysis and an evolving record of decisions.
ATG’s research views are its own and do not represent the views of any employer.
A few useful distinctions.
These notes help you interpret the research, dates and results.
What do the trade decisions mean?
Enter starts an exposure; a starter is a smaller initial position. Add, hold and trim increase, maintain or reduce it. Exit closes the exposure; reverse changes its direction. Wait names a condition to reassess, while avoid rejects the current opportunity.
These are research decisions. Check the portfolio’s recorded open positions and closed trades to see what has actually been implemented in the simulation.
How are facts, forecasts and results different?
Facts are sourced observations with dates and, where relevant, contract identifiers. Scenarios, forecasts and priced-in assessments are analytical judgments, not measured win probabilities. Simulated portfolio results come from the paper record and are separate from forecast returns.
Are prices and portfolio values live?
No. Research uses discrete observations and retains their actual dates. Quotes may be delayed, dated or unavailable. The portfolio shows its own valuation date; an updated article does not imply every market price or portfolio mark has refreshed.
How is AI used?
AI assists the research and analysis. Like any analytical tool, it can make errors; published source references and clear assumptions help readers assess the work.
How do views and corrections change?
New evidence can change a thesis, its expression or its size. Earlier editions retain their historical conclusions, and material corrections are identified separately with dates and supporting evidence. You can follow those changes in the archive and thesis timelines.
What is the scope of this research?
ATG publishes general research and education, not advice tailored to a reader’s finances. Futures involve leverage and substantial risk; losses can exceed an indicated stop. Simulated results cannot reproduce every liquidity constraint, price gap or real-world execution cost.
